Resolving Connection Errors (Password Not Accepted or IMAP Issues)

If you encounter connection errors when linking your account, follow these steps:

1. Verify Your App Password

  • Changing your primary Google Account password invalidates existing app passwords
  • Generate a new app password in your Google Account settings
  • Immediately update this new password in your Mailgo account settings
  • Go back to Mailgo and Reconncet this email account.

2. Confirm IMAP Access

Ensure IMAP is enabled in Gmail:

  • Open Gmail → Click the gear icon (Settings) → "See all settings"
  • Navigate to "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab
  • Under "IMAP access":
    • Select ✔ Enable IMAP
    • Save changes
  • Go back to Mailgo and Reconncet this email account.

3. For Google Workspace Email Account

Enable POP/IMAP Access:

  • Access Admin Console: Log in to the Google Admin Console (admin.google.com) as an administrator.
  • Navigate to Gmail Settings: Go to Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → User settings.
  • Enable Protocols: Under Protocol access, enable POP and IMAP access.
  • Go back to Mailgo and Reconncet this email account.
