Resolving Connection Errors (Password Not Accepted or IMAP Issues)
If you encounter connection errors when linking your account, follow these steps:
1. Verify Your App Password
- Changing your primary Google Account password invalidates existing app passwords
- Generate a new app password in your Google Account settings
- Immediately update this new password in your Mailgo account settings
- Go back to Mailgo and Reconncet this email account.
2. Confirm IMAP Access
Ensure IMAP is enabled in Gmail:
- Open Gmail → Click the gear icon (Settings) → "See all settings"
- Navigate to "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab
- Under "IMAP access":
- Select ✔ Enable IMAP
- Save changes
- Go back to Mailgo and Reconncet this email account.
3. For Google Workspace Email Account
Enable POP/IMAP Access:
- Access Admin Console: Log in to the Google Admin Console (admin.google.com) as an administrator.
- Navigate to Gmail Settings: Go to Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → User settings.
- Enable Protocols: Under Protocol access, enable POP and IMAP access.
- Go back to Mailgo and Reconncet this email account.
