Published:
2 mins read

Integrating with custom SMTP is ideal if you already have your own email infrastructure and want to manage email deliverability independently.

Note: Outlook/Microsoft accounts cannot be connected via IMAP/SMTP. Please use the OAuth Microsoft connector for those accounts.

Step 1: Select the IMAP/SMTP Method

  1. Log in to your Mailgo account
  2. Go to Accounts > Add New Account
  3. Choose “IMAP/SMTP” from the available connecting methods

Step 2: Enter Basic Account Information

Fill in the following details:

  • Email Address
  • Sender First Name
  • Sender Last Name
  • Region/Location — Select a location for optimal email warm-up behavior.

Step 3: Provide SMTP and IMAP Server Settings

For example, if you're connecting a Gmail account:

SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com

SMTP Port: 587

IMAP Host: imap.gmail.com

IMAP Port: 993

Tip: For other providers, simply search:"SMTP settings for [Your Email Provider]" on Google

If you’re connecting Gmail via SMTP/IMAP:

Paste the Password for SMTP and IMAP settings.

Step 4: Submit and Connect

Click “Sign in with SMTP” to complete the connection.
Once verified, your custom email account will be ready to send via Mailgo.
